Memory Card Bridge Overview
These devices bridge the most popular memory cards (PC Smart Card, SD, MMC, SDIO and Memory Stick®) to a wide variety of Host CPU with different I/O bus specifications from 32-bit to 8-bit. The protocols details of the memory card interfaces are supported by the Reader/Writer ICs, simplifying the task of system designers to access the memory cards, thereby reducing the time-to-market. Optional DMA mode further reduces the data transfer loading on the Host CPU for improved system performance and user experience.
