Winbond America Introduces New Dual Channel Voice CODEC Chips
W682x10 Series Targets Enterprise, Handset and Telephony Applications
San Jose, CA, June 18, 2003 - Winbond Electronics Corporation America, a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions to the consumer, computer, communications and electronics products markets, today introduced the W682310 (3V) and the W682510 (5V), a new series of dual channel voice CODEC chips. The chips complete Winbond's family of voice CODEC solutions aimed at enterprise, handset, automotive, telematics, VoIP, speakerphones and PABX. The dual channel voice CODEC ICs offer analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion, industry specifications G.711 and G.712 ITU-T, improved performance and competitive pricing. The W682x10 series is currently sampling with volume production expected in the third quarter of 2003. The chips are priced at $1.90 for 25,000/quantity.
The W682x10 series offers all of the market-leading features of Winbond's family of voice CODEC solutions. The W682310 is pin compatible with the OKI MSM7704-01 and the W682510 is pin compatible with the OKI MSM7533V. The ICs are offered with a wide variety of power options; 2.7 - 3. 8V (W682310) and 4.5 - 5.5V (W682510). Typical power dissipation of: 22mW (W682310) and 35mW (W682510); standby of 2.1mW (W682310, W682510) and 3uW (W682310) and 5uW (W682510) for power down mode. The devices are offered in a variety of packaging options. The W682310 is offered in SOP24 and SSOP20 packaging and the W682510 is available in SOP24, SSOP20 and PDIP20 packaging.
